Effect of two levels of ginger (Zingiber Officinale) powder roots in diet on the productive performance and some blood biochemical parameters of Awassi ewe lambs

Abstract


This experiment was carried out in the department of animals production -Collage of Agriculture in Tikrit University, using 12 Awassi ewe lambs, they raised between 20/9/2013 to 20/12/2013. In this experiment were divided into three groups, (each group was 4animal) each average weight was 26.89kg, and aged 4-5 months. Animals feed during the experiment on concentrate feed by 3.0% of body weight, the diets were equal in total nutrients and different additions. Ginger powder roots was add to diet and mix with the feed daily by 0, 5 and 10 g / kg dry matter levels, respectively. the aim of this Study was to Conducted the effects of ginger on some productive performance characteristics and some blood biochemical parameters .There were no significant difference between groups on initial and final weights , Average daily gain , total gain and feed conversion ratio . The results showed also no significant differences on concentrations of cholesterol, blood urea, total protein and triglyceride .
